An IRIX Portfolio (1/2)
A while back like December I got the idea to make a portfolio to showcase my archviz and 3d artwork. After looking for templates that could help me make it look interesting I really didn’t think any of them matched the vibe I was going for.
I had just binge watched some youtube videos about SGI workstations and I remembered how cool the IRIX operating system looked, and since I luv old computers and Jurassic Park I was deadset on making my portfolio look like that.
I started this early march and I have revisited it from time to time, Getting the windows to look like the real deal has spanned months of tinkering since even though IRIX was an old OS it had a LOT of window decoration. I’m currently a lot more focused on getting the gltf models done! Since I decided on using threejs to show actual 3d models spinning in the viewport I’ve been working on making the animated scenes nice and low poly as well as looping cleanly.
Next after the mini scene animations are the background to the actual portfolio sections that pop out into fullscreen when clicked. Once all of this is sorted I’ll call it a day and upload it to my main site. I also actually plan to get all of my personal information out of it and upload to a git repo since even though for portability im writing everything on a single huge html I think its actually straightforward to edit :)
This is part one! I’ll come back to this when its done, and provide a link to look at it.
